Chimney services Lansing homes can book
If your house in Lansing has a fireplace, a wood stove, a gas unit or a clothes dryer that vents outside, the work we do covers it. The work falls into one of four groups:
- Cleaning: chimney sweeping, flue and creosote cleaning, clearing blockages, nests and odors, and cleaning fireplaces, inserts and wood stoves.
- Inspections: a standard chimney inspection, camera inspections of the flue, checks before a home sale, and checks after storm damage.
- Repairs and upgrades: leaks, flashing, crowns, tuckpointing, liners, dampers, chase covers, caps and screens, plus fireplace, firebox and door repairs.
- Dryer vents: cleaning, lint and blockage removal, airflow testing, roof vents, rerouting, and replacement of damaged vent runs and covers.
Choosing what to ask for first
If you don't know what's wrong, start with an inspection. It shows whether the flue only needs cleaning or whether something needs fixing, and it gives you a clear list of the work before you agree to any of it. If you already know where the trouble is, such as water stains next to the chimney or loose bricks near the top, you can ask for chimney repair work directly.
Many problems start at the top of the chimney. An uncapped flue lets in rain, leaves and animals, and a cap is one of the simplest fixes for all three. You can read about how chimney cap installation works before you call. Dryer vents are a separate system from the chimney, so tell us about both if you'd like both checked.
Stop using it if you see these signs
Smoke spilling into the room, a strong burning or tar smell, or a dryer that runs hot and leaves clothes damp are all reasons to stop using the appliance until it has been checked.
