Chimney services Carol Stream homeowners can book
Carol Stream is part of our service area for the full range of chimney, fireplace and dryer vent work. The work falls into one of these groups:
- Cleaning: chimney sweeping, flue cleaning and creosote removal, plus cleaning for open fireplaces, fireplace inserts and wood stoves.
- Inspection: a standard chimney inspection service, camera inspections of the flue, and checks when a home is being sold or after a storm.
- Repairs: masonry, crown, tuckpointing, flashing, leaks, liners and dampers. Our chimney repair work runs from small fixes to a full rebuild.
- Tops and covers: caps, animal screens, spark arrestors and chase covers. Here's how chimney cap installation works if your chimney is open at the top.
- Fireplaces: repairs, restoration, new fireplaces and inserts, doors, gas logs and conversions.
- Dryer vents: cleaning, lint and blockage removal, airflow testing, roof vent cleaning, repair, replacement and rerouting.
Where to start if you're not sure what you need
If the fireplace smokes, the room smells like a campfire on humid days, or you see water stains near the chimney, an inspection is usually the sensible first step. It shows whether the issue is a dirty flue, a blockage, a worn part or something that needs repair, so you pay only for the work the chimney actually needs.
Scratching or chirping sounds inside the chimney usually mean an animal or nest. We remove those and can add a screen or cap so it doesn't happen again.
For the dryer, warning signs include loads that take two or more cycles to dry, a laundry room that gets unusually hot, or a burning smell. If you smell burning, turn the dryer off and unplug it until the vent is checked. Those point to a restricted vent, and a cleaning with an airflow check is the place to begin.
When you get in touch, describe what you're seeing, hearing or smelling. That helps us plan the right visit for your home.
